Why does my child need sunglasses?
BANZ® sunglasses help cover infant and toddler eyes from harmful UV light. Young children's eyes are still developing, which makes proper UV protection especially important.
Inferior tinted lenses can do more harm than good. Behind dark lenses, the iris opens to allow more light in — so if the lens does not properly protect against UV, more harmful light can reach the eye.

How do I teach my child to wear sunglasses?
Put BANZ® on your child while they are outside in the sun, not indoors.
Keep lenses clean with lens cleaner, soap and water, and a soft cloth.
Center the nosepiece on the bridge of the nose and place the strap above the ears.
Adjust the strap so it is snug enough not to slip, but never too tight.
Expect little ones to pull them off at first. Keep practicing and build wear time gradually.
What is the UV protection of BANZ® sunglasses?
BANZ® lenses are UV400, category 4 lenses. They block the full spectrum of UVA, UVB, and UVC rays from the sun.
What does category 4 lens mean?
What are the sunglasses made from?
BANZ® frames and lenses are made from polycarbonate material, making them durable, lightweight, and virtually shatterproof.
Can BANZ® be fitted with prescription lenses?
Yes. Original BANZ® wrap-around sunglasses are Rx-able and can be cold fitted with prescription lenses up to +/- 8 diopters by your optician.
What are the straps made from?
BANZ® wrap-around headbands are made from neoprene — the same soft, stretchy, easy-clean material used in wetsuits. It also floats, helping prevent loss at the pool or beach.
Are Adventure BANZ® adjustable?
Yes. Adventure BANZ® wrap-around headbands adjust with a hook-and-loop closure so the fit can be loosened or tightened as your child grows.
What about BANZ® swimwear?
BANZ® swimwear is made from a nylon spandex blend and is designed to be loose fitting for comfort. Unlike ordinary swimwear, BANZ® swimwear is made with built-in UV protection.
All BANZ® swimwear has been clinically tested to a UPF 50+ rating.
BANZ® swimwear is chemical free. The UPF factor comes from the tightness of the fabric weave and will not wash or wear out.
What is the UV protection of BANZ® sun hats?
BANZ® bucket hats are made from 100% polyester and offer UPF 50+ protection with breathable comfort for sunny days.
