Why Babies Need Hearing Protection at Current Matches
The electric atmosphere that makes CPKC Stadium so special can be overwhelming for infant ears. Here's what little ones are exposed to:
Crowd Roar
A sold-out CPKC Stadium crowd singing and chanting together can reach ear-damaging levels, especially during a goal.
Supporters' Section Drums & Chants
Sustained drumming and chanting from the supporters' section produce continuous high-volume sound throughout the match.
Stadium PA & Music
Stadium speaker systems are engineered for maximum volume impact. Sustained exposure at these levels is not safe for young children.
Goal Celebrations
That collective roar when the Current score is one of the most intense sounds in soccer — sudden, sharp, and impossible to predict.
Pregame & Halftime Entertainment
Live music and hype segments before kickoff and at halftime are produced at concert-level volumes that can exceed safe thresholds for babies and toddlers.

We brought our 8-month-old to her first Current match and these earmuffs were a lifesaver. She slept through half of it! CPKC Stadium is SO loud when the supporters' section gets going — I can't imagine going without them now.
My daughter wore her teal BANZ® to a sold-out match and everyone was asking where we got them. She looked adorable and was totally comfortable the whole time.
The drumming from the supporters' section is nonstop for 90 minutes. The BANZ® kept our twins calm and happy through all of it — an absolute essential for stadium parents.
Pediatrician recommended we get hearing protection before our daughter's first match. Went with Baby BANZ® — perfect choice and she barely noticed she was wearing them.
Built for Women's Soccer, Loud by Design
The crowd, the supporters' section, and the PA system combine to create sound levels that can be unsafe for babies and young children — without them even realizing it.

Frequently Asked Questions
Everything parents ask before bringing their baby to a Current match for the first time.
Can babies attend Kansas City Current matches?
Yes! Many Current fans bring babies and young children to CPKC Stadium. Children under a certain age often receive free admission (check the Current's official website for current policy). The key is being prepared — hearing protection, comfortable clothing, and a flexible plan for leaving early if needed make it enjoyable for the whole family.
How loud is CPKC Stadium?
Our own BANZ® Protect app has recorded crowd noise reaching the high 80s and 90dB range at a sold-out CPKC Stadium, with the app flagging conditions as “Caution” well before that point. Sound levels above 75dB can be harmful with prolonged exposure, and the safe threshold for babies is even lower. Hearing protection is strongly recommended for any child under 10 attending NWSL matches.
What age can wear Baby BANZ® earmuffs?
Baby BANZ® are designed for infants from birth through approximately 2 years. Kidz BANZ® are designed for children aged approximately 2–10 years. Both provide NRR 26dB noise reduction. Baby BANZ® fit smaller heads; Kidz BANZ® accommodate more growth.
Will my baby keep the earmuffs on during the match?
Most parents are pleasantly surprised — babies often settle quickly once the earmuffs are on because the noise reduction is immediately soothing. Many babies fall asleep wearing them. We recommend putting them on before entering the stadium so your baby adjusts before the noise starts.
What's the difference between Baby BANZ® and Kidz BANZ®?
Baby BANZ® (ages 0–2): Extra-soft, flexible headband that fits newborns. Kidz BANZ® (ages 2–10): Padded headband, sturdier construction for active toddlers and kids. Both offer identical NRR 26dB noise reduction. If your child is around 2 years old, either may fit.
Are there Current-colored BANZ® earmuffs?
We don't currently make teal earmuffs, but many Current fans choose our Black or White Baby BANZ® and make them their own — parents have used stickers, fabric markers, and paint to add team flair. White BANZ® are especially popular at day matches because they stay cooler in the sun.
Can I bring BANZ® earmuffs into CPKC Stadium?
Yes — hearing protection devices for children are permitted at CPKC Stadium. BANZ® earmuffs are compact, lightweight, and fit easily in a diaper bag. Check the Current's official bag policy for any updated stadium entry requirements before your visit.
Do pediatricians recommend hearing protection at sports events?
Yes. The American Academy of Pediatrics and audiologists widely recommend protecting children's hearing in loud environments, including concerts, sports events, and fireworks. Children's ears are more sensitive than adults' and noise-induced hearing damage is cumulative and permanent. BANZ® earmuffs are trusted by over 2 million families worldwide.
